What’s Not To Love?

Orla Kiely Hand CreamSome Of My Beauty Must-Haves so far this year……..

1.  I didn’t think I could find a better hand cream than A’kin  but I’ve been using Geranium Hand Cream from Orla Kiely this last week or so and it’s just about perfect. It smells really good and sinks into my skin beautifully. I hate it when my hands are all greasy for ages after putting my hand-cream on but the Orla Kiely one just leaves my hands all soft instead of smudging all yucky fingerprints all over my iPhone screen.

2.  Eye of Horus Mascara is brilliant for sensitive eyes and/or contact lens wearers and I fall into both categories. It claims to lengthen and strengthen at the same time so that’s a eye of horus eye pencil tealplus for starters. The brush isn’t overfull when you pull it out of the tube so you may think it’s not going to colour your eyelashes enough but what it means in my case is that I don’t get surplus mascara glooping all over the place. The fact that this mascara is Paraben Free is also a bonus! Incidentally my favourite eye pencil at the moment is also by Eye of Horus (strange name isn’t it?) and I’ve been wearing the ‘teal malachite’ colour. It really brings out the green in my blue/green eyes and has all-day staying power!

3.  Nailtiques Cuticle & Skin Gel softens my cuticles and makes them nice and easy to push down. It has a lovely scent and my fingertips feel incredibly soft after using it.

4.  The Bakewell Soap Co Luscious Lips with the green apple flavour is my lip balm of choice, right now. It tastes fresh and edible and keeps my lips all lovely and soft. What’s not to love?!MuLondon White Chocolate Elbow cream

5. One of my daughters bought me Organic White Chocolate Elbow, Knee & Heel Cream by MuLondon  for Christmas and I’m finding it hard to even walk past the jar in my bedroom without having a sniff of it. It smells exactly as it says on the tin but not in a cloying, sickly way. It does the job too as my heels are soft and hard-skin-free as are my elbows. A brilliant product and a real must-have! This one too contains no mineral oils, parabens, silicones, emulsifiers or other man-made chemicals.

6.Heyland & Whittle Luxury Foam Bath comes highly recommended too. I have the Neroli & Rose scent and I only need to use a really small amount to have lots of long-lasting bubbles. It leaves the bathroom smelling good for ages after bathing and my skin too.

7. I really love the Mark Jacobs Honey Gift Set  which my Mum bought me for Marc Jacobs HoneyChristmas. It’s a very wearable perfume – fresh but warm at the same time and you can definitely smell the honey. The bottle is adorable too – so cute and snazzy!  (Last year I had the Marc Jacobs Daisy which is another nigh-on-perfect everyday scent!) The Eau de Parfum comes with a matching Shower Gel and Body Cream so you can really layer the scent to make it last longer.

To be honest I like the Marc Jacobs bottles so much, I’ve kept my Daisy even though the bottle ran out ages ago!

So there you go – a few of my very own beauty must-haves …….

Mrs C
In a nutshell, I'm a Mum to three gorgeous daughters and two step-sons who are gradually making their own lives and leaving Mr. C and I plenty of time to enjoy life just as a couple again. I'm a big fan of Afternoon Tea & Corrie and hate, with a vengeance, violence in films! I love reading 'proper' books though I concede that my birthday Kindle was brilliant on holidays.
