Comvita Protective Day MoisturiserBeautyShopping and About Town by Mrs C - September 12, 2011The jury’s still out on the Comvita Protective Day Moisturiser which I bought last month. It definitely does the job on the moisturising front but I’m finding it a bit sticky. It seems to take ages to sink in, which is more than a bit annoying in the mornings when time is of the essence and you’re waiting to put your make-up on.Granted though, on the pack it says it’s for ‘normal to dry’ skin. I must have missed this completely when I ordered it, as I have normal skin with, if anything, a tendancy towards slightly greasy on the forehead area. In other words it’s probably not really a suitable product for me anyway. If I use it in the night though, it’s brilliant and my face is lovely and smooth and kind-of plumped-out in the morning – not sure how or why! In other words even though it is a Day Moisturiser, it works best for me in the night. It’s from the Comvita Anti-Ageing Range and genuinely is one of the few products I’ve used, without nasty additives and chemicals, which does seem to smooth my ‘morning-face’ out!I ordered it from the MyPure website where it says it contains ‘Comvita®’s clinically researched HUNI®XA Manuka honey proven to support your skin’s natural elasticity and help delay the signs of ageing’. The distinctive honey scent is one of the first things I noticed about it when I first used it. Manuka honey is often called ‘a miracle ingredient’ for all sorts of reasons and I know at least a couple of my friends who swear by rubbing honey onto cuts/injuries etc. Well I haven’t morphed into Elle McPherson overnight and don’t expect to but my skin does feel good!As I always say….’Everything sold by mypure is sulfate free (sodium lauryl sulfate SLS, sodium laureth sulfate SLES, ammonium laureth sulfate ALES), paraben free & phthalate free.’Check out some of my other Reviews of Beauty Products Here .
