Viva Las Vegas

We’re off to Vegas in October with Virgin Holidays and can’t wait. You have no idea how much, I am looking forward to it. We’ve been a few times now and each time has been unique. Las Vegas StripOne of our visits was marred horribly by a severe episode of flu which left me incapacitated during our visit and resulted in me having some kind of ‘post-viral syndrome’ for years afterwards. In fact I am genuinely still suffering from the after-effects. Mr. C got away with his ‘fluey-virus’ relatively easily and was only ill for a month!!

Working for ourselves means that we have always remained in email contact with the office on holidays hence we find it difficult to switch off. This time however, we have promised ourselves that we are going to ‘delegate’ and have a ‘complete break’.

This time too we are going for complete 5 Star luxury and are staying at The Venetian where apparently all the rooms are suites and look amazing. We’re going for a very self-indulgent week instead of the usual couple of days so we’ll be spending a bit more time in the room probably and will no doubt get to enjoy living the life of Riley (whoever he is).

Flying with Virgin means we get plenty of legroom and as a bonus for booking a Platinum Hotel, we also get access to The VRoom at Gatwickthe oasis which is the VRoom (Virgin’s super-duperlounge). Once the necessary look around the shops is done, there’ll be no more hanging around a crowded terminal for us. We’ll be chilling, reading complimentary newspapers and indulging in a free breakfast too!

We are thinking of doing a Show when we’re there although most of the ones that’ve shortlisted are the expensive ones so that idea might come to nothing. Will keep you posted on that. We saw Celine Dion a few years  back. It was a fantastic show and yes her voice was/is incredible and the set was something else blahdeblahdeblah …… BUT she must have told us she lurved us all after and before every song. It was really grating after a while and in the break, I was kind of wishing she’d adopt a more misanthropic style by the second half.

Anyway holiday daydreaming over for now and back to work…….. (otherwise there’ll be no dollars for The Strip!)

Mrs C
In a nutshell, I'm a Mum to three gorgeous daughters and two step-sons who are gradually making their own lives and leaving Mr. C and I plenty of time to enjoy life just as a couple again. I'm a big fan of Afternoon Tea & Corrie and hate, with a vengeance, violence in films! I love reading 'proper' books though I concede that my birthday Kindle was brilliant on holidays.
